Faversham and Mid Kent MP, Helen Whately, comments on the proposed Winterbourne Fields development

Helen Whately MP has commented on the proposed development and launched a petition to urge Swale Borough Council to consider carefully building upon huge swathes of farmland.

“I know a lot of people are very unhappy about this proposal. As you say in your objections, the development will mean the loss of agricultural land and impact wildlife. The scale of the development is huge compared to the size of the existing villages like Boughton and Dunkirk. It will also mean more cars using local roads – whether Brenley Corner or the narrow lanes which are too often used as rat-runs.”
